Hello World

The world doesn’t need another feedback tool. But Flutter did.

Chirp, chirp! Who's there?

Your Flutter app’s (not-so-new) best friend! Wiredash is the world’s first true multi-platform SDK, and we have set out to make your Flutter apps fly!

🐦 The Early Days

In December 2019, the first stable version of Google’s Flutter framework was released, but most of us here at Wiredash got our hands dirty on the framework and started playing with it when it was still in its alpha days. I guess you could call us an early bird?*

After publishing our first proof of concept in early 2019, we quickly realized we were onto something. Today there are more than 200,000 Flutter applications on the Google Play Store. The number on the App Store has grown even more rapidly — from less than 20,000 in 2019 to over 90,000 now. Among the published applications you can find big tech companies and products like Google Ads, Nubank, BMW or even The New York Times.

💡 Why Flutter is Winning the Race

Flutter’s nothing but short of impressive popularity has skyrocketed for good reason: The framework is platform-agnostic (unlike React Native and Xamarin), it relies on a single codebase (drastically reducing development resources), shines with a well-designed and -functioning UX and is both easy to learn and use. All this makes Flutter an excellent choice for many startups and smaller companies who need to be cost-conscious with regard to development time and delivery cycles.

There is a pitfall to all of this, however. Smaller companies are often also held back by a lack of resources and know-how. There are many start-ups and small businesses who are creating products they think their users (will) love — but they never actually stop to see if their assumptions are true. As a result, their products often fall short on both the user experience and the business scale side — and soon cease to exist.

This is where Wiredash taps in. We have successfully set out to create Flutter’s first built-in, interactive feedback tool: with 3000+ apps using our SDK and a 25k+ feedback volume every month! The idea to collect feedback, gather bug reports and have real-time conversations with users isn’t new, yet often overlooked and neglected in the early days of developing a product’s new ecosystem.

But it is the early sourcing of feedback and gathering user input that is especially important. In that, software development is no different from any other industry or business. Because whatever it is that you’re trying to build or sell: you are essentially creating it for other people. Imagine opening up a bakery but never test sampling your products until the day you open up your doors. And no: Your mum’s feedback isn’t non-biased feedback.

When you focus on MVP development rather than some fully-fledged product solution, you not only actively reduce the risk of delivering services or features that your users don’t need, you also effectively protect yourself from receiving negative reviews at a point in time when it mosts counts. Suppose your app doesn’t have a feedback feature and one of your users runs into a severe problem or they cannot find the answer to a question they have. Guess what will happen? Exactly — without a direct and easy way to get in touch with you, users will use the app store’s or some other social media’s platform to leave their feedback. And unfortunately, bad reviews are typically especially damning to new smaller companies who are just starting out.

We understand it is easy to get emotionally attached to what you’ve built and it might take some time before you feel confident enough to ask questions like “How can we improve?” or “What would you do differently?” — but do not wait too long! If you want to be successful, you should start soliciting user feedback now.

🧑‍💻 Introducing our Indie plan

Here’s the good news: Wiredash makes it incredibly easy for you to get going. Our Indie Plan is completely free, includes all features and can be integrated in less than 3 minutes.

We believe that gathering early feedback and connect with your users is key for your app’s success, so you can start building for free and only upgrade the plan when you start gaining traction. Sounds good?

Then what are you waiting for? You know what the say: The early bird catches the bug.
